For Such a Time as This: Embracing Your Power as a Christian Feminine Woman

Alright, let’s talk about the beauty, strength, and purpose wrapped up in being a Christian feminine woman. What does that really look like? And how do we live it out? To answer that, we need to take a deep dive into the story of Queen Esther—a woman who didn’t just carry her femininity; she wielded it for the Kingdom of God.

Esther’s story has always fascinated me. Here was this young Jewish girl, chosen to be queen in a foreign land, and she’s suddenly thrown into a life she never planned. But even in this unexpected situation, Esther didn’t lose sight of who she was. She embraced her unique qualities—her grace, her wisdom, and, yes, her feminine strength. She wasn’t about flashy displays or brute force; she trusted that her quiet strength and the guidance of God were enough to change the course of history.

One of my favorite moments in her story is when her cousin Mordecai tells her in Esther 4:14, “Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Talk about purpose! Esther wasn’t in the palace for herself; she was there for something greater. To me, that’s the essence of being a Christian feminine woman: realizing that our unique qualities, our God-given femininity, are placed in us for a purpose far bigger than ourselves.

Esther knew the power of timing and wisdom. She could have marched straight to the king, demanding he save her people, but she didn’t. Instead, she fasted and prayed, seeking God’s direction first. She waited for the right moment to approach the king, and she did it with elegance and grace, knowing that her strength came from a deep-rooted trust in God’s plan. Esther 4:16 records her powerful words: “I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” That’s bravery and faith, wrapped up in humility.

And what about influence? Esther knew that true influence isn’t about overpowering others. It’s about letting God work through us, bringing our strengths to the table in a way that serves His purposes. Proverbs 31:25 tells us, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Esther carried that strength and dignity. She didn’t need to be loud to be heard; her presence, her faith, and her actions spoke volumes. Her influence changed the fate of her entire people.

As Christian feminine women, we’re called to walk in that same strength, dignity, and grace. We don’t need to compete or control; we’re invited to trust and let God move through us. Esther teaches us that femininity isn’t weak or passive—it’s powerful, purposeful, and anchored in faith. Our gentleness, our empathy, our patience—these aren’t limitations; they’re strengths God uses to bring His kingdom here on earth.

So, here’s the takeaway: embrace who you are, and don’t be afraid to bring your full, feminine self to the calling God has placed on your life. Like Esther, we’re here “for such a time as this.” We’re here to live out a purpose that only we, as Christian feminine women, can fulfill. And when we do that, God moves in ways we can’t even imagine. 😉
