There was a time in my life when I thought I had everything figured out. I had a vision board, a five-year plan, and a cute little journal where I wrote down all the ways I would achieve my goals. (Spoiler: God was probably laughing while I wrote it all down.) Because, let’s be real, nothing—and I mean nothing—went according to my plan.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve had those moments where you’re staring at the ceiling, thinking, “Lord, are You sure You’ve got this? Because it’s looking a little shaky from where I’m sitting.” I’ll admit, I’ve had my share of spiritual temper tantrums—full-on stomping my feet in prayer, demanding an explanation. But here’s the thing: God’s plans for us aren’t meant to follow our timelines, Pinterest aesthetics, or perfectly curated Instagram captions.
And as feminine women, we have to understand that control was never supposed to be in our hands anyway. That doesn’t mean we’re passive; it means we’re wise enough to know Who’s in charge. Our role is to trust, lean into grace, and walk in faith—not to micromanage every single detail like we’re the CEO of the universe.
I remember praying for something once, and instead of the immediate, picture-perfect outcome I had envisioned, God handed me… silence. Crickets. For MONTHS. so frustrated, thinking, “God, where are You?! I’m trying to be patient, but You’re testing me here!” Turns out, He wasn’t ignoring me. He was working behind the scenes in ways I couldn’t see. And when His plan finally unfolded, it was so much better than anything I could’ve dreamed up.
Here’s what I’ve learned (and am still learning, because let’s be honest, this is a lifelong lesson): Hope isn’t about having all the answers or even knowing the steps ahead. It’s about trusting that the God who created the universe is also intimately involved in the details of your life. He sees the big picture when all you see is a mess of puzzle pieces.
Ladies, if you’re trying to white-knuckle your way through life, let me lovingly tell you to unclench those fists. Release the worry, the doubt, and the fear of “what if.” Being a feminine woman isn’t about being in control; it’s about embracing the beauty of surrender. It’s knowing that God’s got this, even when it feels like everything is falling apart.
Remember that verse in Jeremiah 29:11? “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” That’s a promise. Not a suggestion. Not a “maybe.” A promise.
So, whether you’re waiting on a relationship, a job, a breakthrough, or even just a sign that God hasn’t forgotten about you, don’t give up hope. Your waiting season isn’t wasted. It’s preparing you for something far greater than you can imagine.
And while you wait, lean into your feminine strength. Be soft, but not weak. Be gentle, but not passive. Let your hope shine so brightly that others are drawn to the God who holds your heart. Because trust me, when God’s plans finally come to pass, you’ll be glad you let go of your own.
Now go fix your crown, girl. God’s got this—and He’s got you.
