What a great turnout! Thanks to Franklin Graham and the thousands of Christian Americans we had a wonderful time praying to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the future of our country.
As we live day today, it can be easy to forget that prayer makes a huge impact and speaks volumes to the Creator. We are His children, and what father denies the request of His child if it is obedient?
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. (Matthew 21:22)
In times of trouble, we have always fallen to our knees and asked for guidance from Providence, as a country, and as the individual. When a country recognizes God the Father as our united guiding spirit, He reassures us with His love and protection.c
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Our forefathers understood the power of prayer and the power of the Almighty God. They knew that America was under His wing, and that if we were to set out on a mission He would guide us with His benevolence.
“I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation.” – George Washington
“We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.” – Abraham Lincoln
